Founder, Rubicon Kiteaux Company

For more than four decades, Kay Cheesman has built a career around an uncommon ability: seeing possibility where others see disconnected pieces. An entrepreneur, strategist, horticulturist, business leader and creative, she is the founder of Rubicon Kiteaux Company (RKC), an umbrella organization through which she develops ventures and ideas spanning professional services, horticulture, business strategy, music, digital media and emerging technology.
Cheesman’s career has never fit neatly into a single professional category. Instead, each discipline has added another dimension to the way she approaches problems and opportunities. She describes her role as a Possibility Architect—someone who identifies what could exist, connects resources and disciplines that may not appear related, and creates the structure necessary to move an idea from possibility to reality.
Cheesman’s professional foundation is both academic and practical. She earned a B.A. in Religion from Belmont University and an M.S. in Soil Chemistry from Stephen F. Austin State University, complemented by advanced study in agricultural finance and commodity risk management. A licensed horticulturist with more than 40 years of professional experience, she has worked across consulting, project development, business operations, entrepreneurship and the management of service-based ventures.
That analytical foundation is balanced by an equally strong creative life. Under the creative name R Kiteaux, Cheesman composes and produces original music ranging from intimate piano works and cinematic instrumentals to Southern-influenced and Christian compositions. Her work also extends into film-sync projects, digital storytelling and emerging creative technologies, including artificial intelligence, which she approaches as another tool for expanding what an independent creator can imagine and build.
Across these different areas, the method remains consistent: understand what is in front of her, look beyond conventional boundaries, identify the resources that can move it forward, and build. Her work moves naturally between science and art, strategy and imagination, financial decisions and human relationships, established industries and emerging technologies. What may appear to be unrelated pursuits are, for Cheesman, different expressions of the same instinct - to recognize possibility and create the structure that allows it to become real.
Cheesman views experience not as a record of what has already been accomplished, but as a foundation for what can be created next. The breadth of her career has given her something increasingly valuable: the ability to recognize connections across disciplines, bring people and ideas together, and turn those connections into new possibilities.
